#Boston College vs University vs Northeastern for BusinessEcon

BC has the strongest job placement for investment banking/consulting out of the 3
the econ program is pretty math heavy too
Thanks for the response. It lines up with the others in this thread, but I'm still wondering where to find out which universities have higher placements than others or one being stronger for finance opportunites than others.
Wharton would be crazy to be accepted into. I'll apply, but it's so selective and I don't have massively impressive EC's. Just decent by A2C standards not to mention that most of them are coming from Junior + Sneior year with most of my EC's having started in the last two years.
Yeah but still apply that’s how I felt
I'm definetely going to apply.
no worries
these 2 are pretty good resources
if you want to check out just pure numbers
basically its just gonna be most of the top 20 and a bunch of schools outside that with strong finance programs
This is wrong. UCLA is the worst T30 school for finance
For some reason
wym
tbf this is just for asset management
Idk I've read on WSO numerous times about complaints that UCLA grads struggle more than they should for a school of it's caliber looking for finance/banking jobs
Not saying it's a bad school for it totally, but much worse than other schools that well known
yea tbf there is the con of being on the west coast for finance
can you link the wso forums that say that?
Sure
https://www.wallstreetoasis.com/forum/school/back-to-make-fun-of-ucla-the-worst-top-college-there-is
But USC is great for LA recruiting apparently
It seems like Stanford and USC take up the spots
possibly because wealthy people's kids go there, and it is possible to donate to secure a spot as opposed to ucla where you get in on merit or as an athlete
my guess is USC despite being less prestigious has better connections due to parents being willing to pull the strings/get other wealthy parents to pull strings to snag a position
I think it's also partly because everyone that goes to USC is very proud of their school, so older grads are more willing to recruit newer grads to their companies
like usc does a much better job than ucla at school spirit because they kinda push their students towards it, starting from orientation lol
That could be true as well
they make a point of that even on the campus tour
Also they do have a b school
also explains why Berkeley is successful unlike ucla
Yup
Schools:Boston College vs Boston University vs Northeastern
Intended major: Business/Econ
Similarities:Like that they're in Boston (major city with strong finance opportunites)
Which one has stronger job placements and opportunities?
Boston College vs University vs Northeastern for BusinessEcon
I would say that they're all pretty similar, but maybe Northeastern's co-op or BC's strength in finance would help
it seems like ur more interested in finance so
i wouldn't look at BU or Northeastern and go wow those r great for finance...BU's strong for econ tho
would say that they’re all relatively similar in terms of Buisness Econ, but i’m also wondering why you’re so set on these schools when there’s schools a lot stronger for econ?
What specific things do you see in BC that make it stronger finance? What makes BU strong for econ?
I'm not set on these schools at all. I've just been looking at strong econ/finance/business schools in Boston (though I don't really care what region I go to, other than preferring one closer to a city) and was wondering what the differences between them were. On a larger level I asked because I'm trying to find out how to differentiate between schools in general and their opportunities in my college search (Because right now many schools all seem similar and I can't tell what unique opportunities one has over the other)
Ive heard those somewhere through this sub I think but also looking at US News Rankings for individual majors can sometimes help ig

As long as u set them as guidelines and don't become obsessive with them, u should be fine
Boston College is better than BU and Northeastern for finance/econ. BU Northeastern about the same.
come to Penn we in a city and econ program is toppppp notch
UPenn would be insane, but I'm not that built different, wish I was
