Background info: Moved from northeast to south directly after 10th grade. Grades for that year dropped in 2nd semester leaving me with a low average for most classes because I couldn't submit classwork due to travelling back and forth. (Freshman year only: 3.98 UW, Sophomore year only: 2.65 UW). When the GPA was recalculated at my current school, some courses that were marked as honors were counted as on-level because they weren't offered

Location/Region: TX (current)
Gender/Ethnicity: Asian, Female
Major: computer/electrical engineering (1), computer science (2)
GPA/Test Scores: 3.4 UW, 4.3/6.0 UW (top 50%), 1380 SAT - 620 EBRW 760 Math (expecting 1400+ for June,), (expecting 31+ for ACT)
High school curriculum (as of end of 12th): 15 APs (incl CS III - taken after AP CSA), ~10 honors
ECs: They were pretty good, but I had to quit midway because it is hard to find in my current area. I'm currently focusing on regional and state competitions

College Curriculum: Rigorous, but not to the point where it drives me insane
Class Size: preferably small-medium (10-20 : 1)
Costs: I need aid. Only a fraction of tuition is going to be covered. Probably will work/get loan
Desired Location(s): Looking for colleges in city areas in-state and south/west. If there are little options in that area, I am willing to go back to the northeast.
Additional: I want to go into schools that are ranked highly in my intended major(s). I am also considering liberal arts colleges with the 3+2 engineering program

Schools you're currently looking at (if any): UT Austin (hard target/reach), Texas A&M, Purdue, UT Dallas (safety?)

There are several schools good at CS/CE/EE: UIUC (northeast, aid not too good), Georgia Tech (South, aid not that good either), UC Berkeley (west, aid isn't that good either), CMU (northeast, aid is slightly better than the others, allows ED), Cornell (northeast, aid is not bad I heard), UMass Amherst (northeast, aid not too good), UW-Madison (northeast, aid not that good), UCSD (west, not too good aid), Rice (south, aid should be decent-ish), Vanderbilt (South, aid should be decentish, not as good in CS/CE/EE as the others but has good overall prestige)

math, aero, physics, and mech would be as easy or easier than EE

but some schools no longer allow you to transfer to CS, so you'll be stuck with the major you applied
