Schools: USC and UC Santa Barbara
Intended major: USC = Economics, potentially switching to Business if possible
UCSB = Economics and Accounting
Similarities: People love both schools and speak very highly of them.
I am looking into pursuing a career in business, currently I am focusing on financial analysis or business consulting. USC would cost me 15-20k more a year to attend than UCSB.
USC Pros:
Reputable/Prestigious
Big City (opportunity)
Trojan Network
I like the campus/campus activity
Big Sports Culture
Private
USC Cons:
More expensive
I have heard that the people are rude/pretentious
I don't like LA that much
UCSB Pros:
Amazing campus
Relaxing/calm
Apparently companies hire a lot of econ students
I like the surrounding area
The people seem very nice
Cheaper
I have heard that they have really good professors
UCSB Cons:
Smaller city = less opportunity/networking (I assume)
No big sports teams
Less prestigious
Housing issues
Public
Is the Trojan Network actually as useful and worth it as people say it is? Thank you
