Need major help on deciding between 4 colleges, my intended major is Computer Science:
University of Virginia
Pros:
Most prestigious
Small class sizes
Surprisingly good financial aid considering I'm out of state (~20k/yr)
Great social life
Nice city
Cons:
Out-of-state, so I won't know anyone there
Pretty expensive compared to UB
Not as suited to my major than some others listed here
SUNY University at Buffalo
Pros:
Cheapest option, living with parents
Have family here, so I won't be on my own
Admitted into the Honors College
Received a few scholarships
Cons:
Least pretigious
Not suited to my major
Large classes
"Safe" option. For some reason, I feel that if I stay at home, I'll be stuck here and not grow much as a person.
What I care most about a university is one that will help me the most in pursuing my academic and career goals. I want to become a software developer in the future and maybe use my knowledge to create a business of some sort. Second most important thing is that I don't want to be in too much debt, but if the cost is worth it I'll take 100% take it. Please help, as decisions are only a few days away. Thanks for all the help, I really appreciate it.

Nope, I'd definitely need loans but my parents will help chip in a bit for the costs and cosign a loan with me.

uva doesn't offer enough prestige or opportunity to make it worth a loan

I agree with fish and chips

If im aware, for cs its largely based on your actual skills/knowledge rather than where u went to so you can probably spend ur extra money on furthering your employability/knowledge

I'd consider Stony Brook

More prestigious than UB for CS imo
