Cal Poly
Pros:
Great learn by doing environment
Good job placement and academics
Great environment

Cons:
47k a year would put me in debt significantly.

#

SDSU
Pros:
Good place in San Diego, and has great school spirit
Decent networking for Business related degrees

Cons:
Out of state isn't cheap (40k a year)
Kind of a party school

#

UW Bothell
Pros:
Cheaper than my other options and I can reapply to the business school in Seattle.
Familiar environment and not far from home

Cons:
30k a year regardless for a fairly mediocre experience

#

WSU
Pros:
Cheap (25k per year total cost)
In-state

Cons:
Doesn't offer informatics (my intended major) but does have business programs

#

Reapplying as a transfer applicant to UW-Seattle
Pros:
It would be cheaper than all my other options
I wouldn't have to wait very long or have to take a very hard course load at all
I could work and save money

Cons:
Its really scary. If i dont go to a school, I am stuck at home for another year while I apply and I cant guarantee I get in.
I currently have almost two years of college credits through a dual enrollment program so I wouldn't be taking many more classes.
If i dont get in at this point, I cant attend a good school period.

#

General info
Intended Major: Econ or Informatics where available

#

I know this is kind of a pickle but I appreciate any advice people can offer. Thanks A2C

crimson plover
#

probably don't do the transfer option

autumn sapphire
#

forgot to include, im currently waitlist at UW seattle

crimson plover
#

oh wait for that

#

and send a loci

autumn sapphire
#

i am

#

sending it out tn

crimson plover
#

nice

autumn sapphire
crimson plover
#

you said you would be stuck at home

#

you can probably transfer from bothell to seattle

autumn sapphire
crimson plover
#

it is

#

but better than staying at home imo

#

you are instate, it would not be the hardest

autumn sapphire
#

i agree. I just need to find a school to commit to while i wait for waitlist options

crimson plover
#

and its in the same system

autumn sapphire
#

thats true

crimson plover
#

looks like the cali schools are too expensive

autumn sapphire
#

yea just a bit too much

crimson plover
#

I would not go that way then

autumn sapphire
#

they are great schools though

crimson plover
#

true

#

but not worth getting in debt for

autumn sapphire
#

i agree

crimson plover
#

I would probably choose UWB or WSU

#

and try to transfer to seattle

#

alternatively

#

CC -> UW - seattle

#

but that might not be the way most people want

autumn sapphire
#

i ahve two years of cc credits

#

im still a senior in hs

crimson plover
#

oh

#

hmm

autumn sapphire
#

i would only have to take one class to qualify for the informatics application

#

thats it

crimson plover
#

hmm

#

cause CC transfer rate is 66%

#

to UW s

autumn sapphire
#

yea my stats are excellent at CC

crimson plover
#

while normal colleges is 20%

autumn sapphire
#

they prioritize transfers there

#

thats why its still an option for me currently

#

its not an end all be all stanford type transfer

crimson plover
#

right

#

I feel like you could take any path except the cali schools imo

#

debt can hurt a lot

autumn sapphire
#

yes thats why im even debating it

#

I know its easy to jump head first into those schools

#

but i need to have stability moreso than anything

crimson plover
#

yep

#

definetly

autumn sapphire
#

apprecaite you reading after i had to retype it

#

genuinely

#

thanks man

crimson plover
#

no prob

#

lol must've been painful to retype

autumn sapphire
#

eh it wouldve been more painful to complain

crimson plover
#

lol
