#Indiana vs NCSU business
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
Schools: Indiana and NCSU
Intended major: Business (probably accounting, finance or SCM)
Similarities:
Large state schools with big sports
Indiana University
Pros:
• Big 10 school
• Very well known for business
• Bloomington is a nice place
• Big in size
Cons:
• Can get very cold which I am not used to
• The main con for me is that I will have to try standard admission into Kelley (Well my petition results aren’t out yet but idt I am getting in) which means 3.5+ with nothing less than a B which is quite risky for me
NC State
Pros:
• Big in size
• Better weather
• Cheaper
• Guaranteed business major
Cons:
• Not as reputed for business (sort of FOMO if I don’t go to Indiana)
Tiebreaking considerations:
• While of course Indiana should be the obvious choice I’m kind of scared of not getting business at Indiana while at NCSU I got business 100%
• Indiana’s salaries tend to be higher than NCSU on average but if I account for COL (using a COL calculator) then the salaries are more or less the same at NCSU
Thanks guys 🙂
here's the full thing
Urban Raleigh certainly is better than bloomington
for the auto admit do you meet atleast one of the 2 requirements?
because i had friends who didn't meet the sat threshold but the were able to get in solely through gpa
after an appeal^^
I live outside the US so I have to petition
didnt petition by the priority so ig not getting in
Oh I see
It all depends in ur self confidence
If u think u can handle the IU rigor then u should do it
IU, and then youll be able to meet me
if kelley doesnt work, you can always switch into o'neill spea
basically kelley but less competitive in nature and a bit more geared to the public as opposed to private
both schools are ranked into the top 5
ic
update:
NCSU = 25k
Indiana = 52k
@spring hull are you planning to go to graduate school?
i’m gonna have to say NC state is your better option if you are. actually, even if it’s not you’ll still have opportunities if you apply yourself. no one should go into 200k for undergraduate.
i’m going to IU with 34k in debt every year, but i’m also planning to transfer elsewhere after my first or second year
I may do a Macc but I will def do a MBA
I am not going into debt either way but imo idt indiana is worth double
it’s not lol
it’s a good program but it’s not stanford
iu is a state school don’t forget that
aight
