Intended major: business

UVA
Pros:

  • Top ranked business school, highly ranked compared to other options
  • Accepted into Echols Scholars Program

Cons:

  • 0 aid (costs around $67k/yr)
  • In Charlottesville/Virginia which is not where I want to attend college
  • Student population is large, mostly in-state (I’m OOS), not very diverse
  • Have to apply separately to McIntire & if I don’t get in I’ll have to major in Economics

Fordham
Pros:

  • Full tuition scholarship, only paying for housing and meal plan (~22k total)
  • In New York City (my dream) & decently well-regarded for business in NYC
  • Accepted into Global Business Honors Program
  • Offers fashion studies minor

Cons:

  • Extremely small undergrad population at Lincoln Center
  • No campus/typical college experience & all classes are in the same building
  • Not as highly ranked as UVA for business
  • Two campuses so clubs/orgs may not be as accessible

FIT (Fashion Institute of Technology)
Pros:

  • In New York City (my dream)
  • Majoring in Fashion Business Management (so both fashion & business which is exactly what I want to do)
  • Lots of opportunities & connections since it’s a fashion school in NYC
  • My goal is to work in the fashion industry in NYC and FIT definitely suits that the best & would best prepare me for that path

Cons:

  • Decently expensive (45k/yr)
  • Attending a fashion school & a degree in fashion business instead of attending a traditional college & a degree in business is more risky in regards to future job prospects
  • No campus/typical college experience
  • Accepted into 2 year AAS, have to apply again for 2 year BS

Business major is more solid than straight fashion. So you have more paths even if fashion is harder to find careers in
