schools: Cornell and URochester
intended major: neuroscience!
similarities:
both are amazing research institutions
cold weather
great lab facilities + undergrad research opportunities
clubs that i am interested in
good food options
Cornell
pros:
cheaper initial cost of attendance as i applied to cals and i’m in-state (~60k)
closer to home
themed housing for specific groups
cornell fashion collective + annual fashion show (i love fashion so this is cool! 😄)
cons:
really big school, might be overwhelming at first
no air-conditioning in a lot of dorms
no merit scholarship given, but i will get financial aid based on need
URochester
pros:
co-curricular opportunities
diversity and inclusion group in biological sciences
smaller compared to cornell
received $13k/year merit scholarship
cons:
higher initial cost of attendance (~80k)
further from home
tie-breaking considerations:
promotion of diversity and equity on campus
general campus life quality
life + community in the surrounding city outside campus
housing quality

i was just curious if i would get any opinions for current students that go to any of these schools as well
