LSE, BSc Management
LSE Pros:
- 3-year instead of 4-year degree
- better mobility
- cheaper but COA is not too big of a factor
- better global prestige for career in finance
- can travel around europe
LSE Cons:
- limited flexibility/exploration of other subjects
- known for a somewhat cutthroat atmosphere (?)
- london weather
- basically everything banks on one final exam
USC, BS Business Administration
USC Pros:
- flexibility to explore different subjects (i want to double major/minor in the arts)
- it's in LA
- gpa determined by sustained performance instead of a final exam
USC Cons:
- more expensive but COA is not too big of a factor
- if i were to go back to asia right after graduating LSE is probably somewhat more well-regarded
- spring 2027 start (but only a slight con since the gap-semester lets me take a breather)
Tie-breaking considerations:
- alumni network
- uk vs us job market & landing internships
- quality of education
- grade deflation
- social scene
sorry if there aren't many pros and cons, i completely didn't expect to get into USC off appeal and was fully committed to LSE--I have until May 30th to make a decision. I plan to go into the finance sector after graduating. Thank you !!
