Location/Region: Im from Texas, but i’m open to anything in the country,
Major: Finance (or really any good degree that can help set me up for a job in IB)
GPA/Test Scores: 3.6 UW, 1400 SAT.
Classes & Clubs: Dont really care about the clubs, but i suppose a more positive environment in general.
Size: Any size is okay.
Costs: I’ll probably need Finacial Aid. Money is a bit tough, but i could muster up around 30-40 grand.

are you willing to retake the SAT?
and do you think you’ll have an upward trajectory in GPA
ut mccombs and utd/utsa/uta are obvious choices
ut mccombs is a reach but you’re instate
so tuition is good
Most likely, I don’t necessarily want to go to any t20s though (ik i dont have a good chance) any school that’s mediocre is good for me
Isnt NYU a bit of a reach especially with my stats
A bit, but it’s always good to apply for reach schools
You’ll never know what a school thinks of your profile unless you apply
You also have a year to increase your SAT and extracurriculars etc
OP could you do the net price calculator for like Lehigh and Fairfield University to see what it tells you in terms of how much you'd need to pay?
you never know
i think it doesnt hurt to apply if you have a fee waiver
you also have 2 years to improve
what were your stats?
sure give me abit
i didnt apply ✌️
upenn
what were ur stats lol
um dm
nyu and positive environment 😭
LMK if u got any questions about IB i worked in it for a couple
depends on how you define positive ig 🤭
woah
awesome
where did you go?
gs?
goldman sachs
ohh i meant like what school
oh
goldman sachs is crazy, thats my dream
i went to upenn
its not a nice dream i wont lie to you
torture
is it? 😭 good pay though
80 hrs a week
sometimes 100
yes pay is pretty good
i think most top buckets made 200k+
first year
at least in nyc
You get some time but not a lot
It gets better the longer u there
I left after 2 and I’m doing PE rn and I’m planning on exiting again
What’s PE
Private Equity
Ohh
are any of those jobs accessible without top schools?
ive been thinking finance
but i wanna have time to travel and also probs wont get into an ivy
yes they are but they are exponentially harder to enter
are the hrs in PE as bad as IB?
rough at the start but it gets better
I guess that’s how they filter people out and keep the best?
any examples?
Private equity venture capital ( later stages ) hedge funds high level corp fin roles
go to uta
austin or Arlington
