#Stanford vs UC Berkeley

Well, it's a long shot actually, I'm still in high school here in Belgium and plan to do my UG here as well, grad would potentially be at Stanford or Berkeley
Gotta say that Stanford has some very fun questions to answer in the application, the short ones are so cool
wait can you not just apply to both
berkeley is going to give u 0 aid as an intl unfortunately
that is, if you get in
Yeah you're putting the cart before the horse here
Make good progress on a bachelor's degree
Apply to both schools and associated scholarships
Get admitted
Calculate actual cost
Then worry about which is better for your purposes
Maybe you're right, I'm someone who wants everything planned out way too early. I could still look at the option to do undergrad at Stanford aswell, who knows
If you aren't even in college thinking about grad school is crazy
Hence why I can also think of it for undergrad, I haven't made that decision 100% yet
Well odds are very good you don't get into either. So focus on applying now and picking later
I'm just very obsessed with planning everything out wayyy ahead while in the back of my mind I know it can still change
Well we're gonna try anyways so best of luck to me! Couldn't find berkeley on common app though.
@clear shale go to stanford
Berkely doesnt give aids to intl students
public schools just dont often give a lot of aids
idk if Berkely is need blind for intl (prob not), but maybe since UC SD is.
No it wount be fun at all
they have different process ๐
UC's are test blind, and ur freshman grades are not consider. If u wanna be with ur gf, u can go to U of SF (idk abt ur grades + if u really wanna go to SF, this can be ur safety.), SF state... etc
but overall it seems like Stanford > Berkely
because
- ur intl
- UCs are public school = no aid (i really mean 0 aid for intl, ur not eligible)
- There is no big difference in the program
- SF and Stanford isnt that far
- UCs have different application stuff. (6 essays, 250words each ig. Not so sure, I might be tweaking)
- Stanford gives u full ride if u get in (they are need aware for intl also, but u if u dont submit aid req, ur good)
consider other schools like SJSU... etc. Since Stanford and Berkely has like 4%~11% acceptance rate
I mean I had it planned as my grad school in 4 years, but I might consider it as my undergrad aswell now, not sure
u want to go to Stanford/Berkely as grad student u mean?
Well yeah the plan I have now is undergrad here in Belgium and then in the US for grad, but maybe I'll add the plan of instantly going to the US
Because for some reason I wanted to ask, rather have full focus on applying for one, u only apply for one as an intl
Not wasting money on application fees
Yeah doesn't make sense indeed
Fair, was leaning towards that
Yeahh was already 46k for Columbia so I stopped applying fkr that
