the point of the megathreads (at least the way i see it) is that all the people who are applying to a particular popular school can congregate and talk about it

so that if you have a specific question or thought then you have somewhere to go where people are more likely to know and care

and so that the main channels aren't full of "when does stanford release"

LACs mostly aren't individually popular enough to warrant their own threads but it's still useful to have a space to talk about them collectively because they're similar in a lot of ways

and people who apply to one are likely to apply to the others

having an "every other school" thread would be pointless because there's nothing unifying anybody in the thread

if somebody asks about lacs in the lac channel i can answer because i know lacs

if somebody asks about colorado school of mines idk anything about that

so why would i be participating in a megathread about it

the play i did fall semester completely unlocked my social world

i met most of my closest friends through it

my friend who committed to williams is immediately going to start socializing LOL

honestly i was sort of unhappy for the first month or so on campus because i had friends but they didn't really feel like "my people" and i was missing the connections i had in hs

i was worried i had like forgotten how to be a normal person and make friends

but everything shakes out if you open yourself up to new connections
