i think it’s around 20-25, but depends on major
it’s been ~2000-3000 people each year but the waitlist size has varied a ton
2023 waitlist was only 4000 people so like 70% acceptance from waitlist and last year was over 15k people and only a 20% acceptance of waitlist

AP/IB english gives you credits to graduation, you’re still required to do 5 credits of composition and 10 additional writing credits
some majors have all the additional writing built in, some have none
there’s also no set time you need to complete those by other than graduation, but composition is an admission requirement for some majors

for incoming freshmen it’s complete luck tbh, they assign housing selection groups that will be done in late july-early august and you just have to hope you or a roommate has something early
for all people who do it by the first priority date ^
i think there’s around 15 groups, they open 1 or 2 a day and then post more rooms as a new group comes in so prior people can go in and get those as well

not an engineering student but i lived in maple, the LLC events are usually they bring in a few people a month from a specific field to have coffee chats with whoever wants to
so one month they may have 3 mechanical engineers come, the next month could be civil
