brown is decent for business/finance as its name allows for opportunities, of course its resources is limited compare to almost any other t20 but it comes with its own benefits. First of all alumni who have gone down the business path will be more receptive to helping you as people doing business/finance from brown is much more limited. In the case of its strength for high finance it is the weakest of the ivies and isnt a top target, but because brown IS a ivy it is still decent for those areas. IF you personally prefer brown's culture greatly i dont think it's worth going to wharton UNLESS your deadset on high finance as the culture at wharton is very different then brown.

and brown does have the benefit of being decent of everything so if your not too sure on what you want to do brown is a good option

Tbh im not rly sure if wharton vs brown for undergrad will make a difference as both r excellent schools & an econ degree from both will hold a lot of weight. I think the biggest difference between wharton & brown will probably be what you do between undergrad & law school (aka career, internships, etc). With wharton you’ll prob end up recruiting and with brown u prolly have more freedom but less success w super prestigious high finance/consulting roles, but either way u need a good resume before applying to law school (i think)

the whole “pre-professional” thing is so weird its not a real thing; what penn does that other schools dont is destigmatize conversations around jobs and career which i see as only a good thing

the majority of penn student conversations are NOT about careers; that being said we have a much easier time talking about career stuff which is awesome, we’re not ashamed/don’t shame each other when we go to career fairs or dress up in suits for an info session

its the opposite of cutthroat, your friends are constantly willing to tell you about opportunities and help you prepare for interviews and review your resume and stuff

and that’s invaluable and also a big reason of why penn students do so well when it comes to recruiting

if you choose to go to brown that’s fine its also a great school and my friends there also love it, but dont make that decision because you think penn is too cutthroat lol despite what prefroshes who are going to other schools choose to tell you
