I dont know if this is helpful to you, but the paper that got me in REA was an AP lang argument 40 minute in-class essay with no feedback, only a 6/6 score. I included it bc even though it was messy with some spelling errors, it showed that I was using information particular to my interests to argue my points

and I thought my style was similiar to the essays

Princeton seems to use it to make sure that the writing in your essays is actually you, and to assess your ability to write generally

I think what matters here is your analytical thinking and the way you articulate through your writing rather than your handwriting. Admission officers at Pton will be aware of people with different handwritings and might have already reviewed way way more bad handwritings.

Plus you can type your supplementary essays as well right ? If you think about it typed piece of graded essay might raise some eyebrows. But that’s what I think

For the graded writing supplement, I took a dual enrollment research class for a summer program that had us write a research paper, could I submit that? It's like a formal computer science paper and not like an AP lit essay

Do the grade or the comments matter more? I have one paper with a higher grade (96), but it's in a class with easier grading (though it does have good comments too, my teacher called it "excellent"); meanwhile my other paper (like a 93 iirc) has more glowing comments, the lower grade is due to much harsher grading in the class
