if you want rough pros and cons list
pros are that you can knock out more classes at home than at usc, you can save money, or you could study abroad and make friends in your cohort if you want to. also helps to have the time off to rest after high school grind and do boring adult stuff before college
cons are that you miss out on welcome week football and a "normal" timeline, might be hard to make friends, you might also find classes harder if your fall classes were straightforward. time management is another one because everything happens really fast. you have to get sophomore year housing by february which is like 4 weeks after you started college
