HYPSM is really hard to transfer into, if you really don't think UT will be a fit I'd also look into places with larger transfer programs like Cornell, Columbia, Northwestern, Chicago, even Penn/Duke

Harvard and MIT barely take any transfers in general

I think putnam really only helps for MIT but only if you score extremely well. I remember they snipe like all the t10 that arent from MIT/HYPSM and transferring (though there are usually ntm of those people)

Main thing for you to do though is find a compelling academic reason to transfer

I'd imagine if you want to apply as a cs major that would be pretty difficult given you're at a top tier cs program

Honestly my biggest tip is definitely have a good reason to transfer, you have to try UT out to know if it's a fit first imo. You essentially have to show these schools that you need them, and that you would fill in some gap that they don't have represented within their undergraduate body already/or have the potential to make a huge impact with a stanford/mit/harvard education as opposed to elsewhere. sure, you could do great on the putnam, but there's also a ton of students with lots of untraditional pathways going through CC whom going to those schools would change the course of their life and would contribute a way different viewpoint to the school, that's who you're "competing" with.
