you'll need 24 honors credits to graduate with honors in addition to completing an honors project. there are many classes that have an honors version/section that already exists but you can also contract classes and basically make an agreement with the prof to do some extra work to make it honors

it can largely be up to you. you pick a selection of required classes for your major and electives--if you came in with a bunch of college credit (e.g through AP exams) you can avoid taking a bunch of gen-eds and have much lighter semesters.

for CS, you usually only take one or two CS classes a semester

one of our professors that teaches that class quite literally aided in creating the standards that the internet runs on today (Douglas Earl Comer)

he was involved in the development of TCP/IP, worked at Bell Labs, and did a bunch of other cool things

I will say that purdue CS is a grind though, according to multiple alumni and older students that I've spoken to

you'll need to figure out how to balance things so you don't burn yourself out trying to keep up with the curriculum
