A lot of them do feel very included (part of that is feeling included within fysep itself though) but they do joke about how white the campus is

Tbh you dont get a good description of dartmouth online because most people here arent as active in online communities than other schools, and the ones that are are probably more likely to dislike the school

Overall ive never heard of any instances of racism or bad experiences on account of being poc but you will have to deal with a demographic that is a fair amount more white than other ivies

I think the general diversity of experiences at any elite school helps bc it makes the general student body a lot more open to people that are different from them

This place is incredible, makes me both very happy and sad to have been waitlisted. The restaurants have been outstanding, love the academic buildings, and I got to see Shakespeares first folio in their library. Also love the area. If I could get off the waitlist I would have so much joy

Ok this is interesting according to the Dartmouth newspaper Dartmouth accepted 1,687 students with the expectation of enrolling 1.175 students allowing 512 students to say no likely without going to the waitlist. So my understanding is if more than 512 say no the waitlist will be used. If I'm wrong let me know what I misunderstood

Thats common. Dartmouth is the smallest and most undergraduate education focused ivy, so we dont output a lot of research (since usually grad students and less teaching dedicated professors do that) which means we’re less known internationally

We offer 3 types of engineering iirc. Mechanical, electrical and biomedical

At dartmouth that would be very difficult

We offer BA’s in engineering so if you want to get a BE thats abet accredited then you need to do extra courses for your major compared to other people

Its supposed to be a 5 year path which lets you graduate with both a BE and a BA but a lot of people do it in 4 which makes minoring and double majoring hard

The nice part is tho we have great accelerated masters programs that let you get a BA + BE + a Masters in engineering in 5 years

You could major in EE and specialize in the other one though?

I heart that many Dartmouth engineering graduates tend to gravitate towards careers in management consulting, investment banking, or product management rather than traditional engineering roles. would i still be able to get a traditional engineering job like product development or nd?

I was off campus recently for a few days of a sports tournament, and some alumni of the team came and played us

not only were they great to spend time with but genuinely so helpful like lots of them offered us jobs lmao
