I mean yeah that's how it should work in theory. My neighbor's son also went to UCSD( a year below me but graduated with my undergrad class) and is a premed. He's taking a gap year to further strengthen his profile. Bro was in pretty much a lot of the premed clubs and stuff and had a good MCAT. Still took 1-2 years off to further his profile so yeah. I mean there are people who do this. What I'm trying to say here is that what worked/didn't work for someone may work/not work for you
