Hey congrats!!! It’s quite intense tbh and comparison is definitely the thief of joy but i definitely think anyone can succeed here if you try hard enough.

Getting opportunities here can be a bit challenging because of the number of premeds and especially through clubs it’s very brutal, but just try your best. You can definitely do it without clubs.

Class wise, I don’t think anything is impossible. Stuff can be hard, but you can definitely keep a 4.0 if you try enough. I’ve never felt like it was impossible even after doing bad on a midterm. One thing is that the quarter system is super fast paced so you’ll have exams every 2-3 weeks or so which was a change for me, but they’re like longer unit tests

Culture wise, I’d say people are competitive but also collaborative. Basically all my friends are premed (and my bf) and I never feel like I’m competing against them. If anything, I study with them and like we all pull each other to do better. It just kind of depends on the circles you end up running in

TLDR; I have no regrets about coming here as a premed (I was lucky enough to get into multiple of these “exclusive clubs” and get research my freshman year that I really enjoyed), but it was not easy by any means
