I was a transfer and applied to mostly UCs and Cal States + a few OOS just bc I had a nontrad path with a super low first year gpa so I thought I was cooked. I ended up being between SJSU, UCSB, UCSD, and Davis. SD too close to home, parents were heavily pressuring me to choose a UC, SB housing seemed too expensive + I wasn’t sure if I’d be a culture fit + despite having the best program for my major that I got into SB wouldn’t guarantee me admission into the major I was a “pre major” so Davis was best fit

I might’ve done UDub had I got in earlier (they didn’t admit me until June not bc waitlist but just late admission cycle) or UT if I wasn’t rejected
