guys does anb find the English Language reqs for UCs slightly confusing? Cuz I attend a school in asia where I've had 5 yrs of instruction in English.

When I emailed UC general helpdesk i was told "You attended G8-G12, that is more than three (3) years of English language instruction. You are considered proficient and do not need to satisfy this requirement."

However recently UCSB sent me an email about "We are contacting you because it appears that you attended a school outside of the United States." and that "Students who have completed all of their secondary school/high school in a country where English is not the language of instruction, as well as students who have had less than three years of instruction in English, will need to demonstrate English proficiency.*

*This requirement also applies to schools that do not offer a fully English-language curriculum. Please note, being a native English speaker and/or a U.S. citizen does not waive this requirement if your high school language of instruction was a language other than English.
*If you attended an EAP program while attending a U.S. high school, this does not apply to you.
*If your high school is in an English speaking country and the curriculum is taught in English, you do not need to complete this."

Yo im lowk stuck cos i got a decent gpa (3.93 uw) taken a few dual enrollment classes, did some shadowing and internship over summer and created a club to help students find out the “realities” of medicine, i feel that im well rounded with music (band, marching band and jazz, dont see myself getting leadership in that but maybe for jazz) and academics and do club and hs sport but no spike, i come from a highly competitive high school and i see a lotta kids already having their spike and i js feel lost.
