Got it 👍 — here’s how to handle it in the UC app when you get to 10th grade summer:

Go to the “Academic History” section → select your school → 10th grade → Summer.

UC asks you to enter courses only if they are A–G and college-prep.

Since Health is not A–G, you just leave that summer blank.

The system will let you continue — UC knows that some schools require Health or PE, but they don’t want those courses listed.

You don’t need to explain why it’s blank. UC will get your official transcript later, and they’ll see Health there. It’s totally fine that it doesn’t appear on the application.

I'm not a STEM student but as I understand it we excel in astrophysics/physics, CS, marine science, earth science, biology and other related fields to that, bioinformatics and biomolecular engineer, and at the bare minimum everything else we're pretty good at. As a politics and history double major I think our social science and humanities programs are also great, it's not like some places where the professors are there just to research, a lot do care about the teaching aspect.

depending on your major choice there are some that dont exist at ucsc. for instance baskin does not have a civil/structural engineering degree or a pure Mechnical Engineering degree. It depends on what you want to do though ig because some majors are available and so like if youre not limited in that scope, it's a fairly nice place to spend 4 years imo.
