I was bored so I used the same method ppl used last year to predict # of waitlisted students - take this with a huuuuge grain of salt

so what they did was they looked at the A2c poll here and looked at the magnitude of the difference between % waitlisted at yale and % actually waitlisted - this year it's about 5.26x more (~10% to ~1.8%)

so we'd go backwards w/ harvard, where theoretically

.2 (A2C Rate) / x (real rate) = 5

ergo rate of 4% waitlisted.

Using last year applicant numbers + ~2200 to make a clean 50,000, we have

2000 waitlisted students, of which appx. 66% will reply to the waitlist offer, for a total of 1300 students on the waitlist, give or take a few hundred (it's not a super precise method and i made a lot of assumptions)
