Location/Region: I prefer a city or suburb, but not a requirement. I'm willing to travel anywhere in the US.

Major: Master's in Computer Science and possibly Bachelor's/Master's in Mathematics

GPA/Test Scores: Unweighted GPA: 4.0 (school doesn't do weighted), Currently tied for valedictorian out of ~450 students, projected SAT score (based on practice exams): 1500 +- 50

Curriculum: I'm looking for a very academically savvy college that has a very good program for CS and decently good program for math.

Size: I really don't care about the size, it can be 30 students a class to 400, it doesn't matter to me.

Costs: Will definitely be needing a lot of aid, at the current moment my parents will be able to pay at max $20k total (but that might change with the current political situation).

Schools You're Currently Looking At:
Current List:

  1. MIT
  2. Harvard
  3. Stanford
  4. CMU
  5. Cornell
  6. Princeton
  7. UW
  8. UW-B
  9. WSU
  10. UCCS

I have UW and UW-B listed because I live in Washington
I was additionally thinking of the UCs and GT, but OOS tuition 😢
Looking mainly for safeties/targets (currently have WSU and UCCS), but any suggestions are helpful!

Additional: I don't really care about like the culture or things like fraternities/sororities, I'm just heavily invested on the academic side. I also want schools that have good career programs like ACM, Career Club, etc. and/or lots of opportunities for internships/post-grad jobs.

GT is safety? Dayum

U could put U-M and UT Austin, UIUC as target/reaches

but for aid probably private schools would be better eg Princeton.

ASU, UArizona/Alabama, Purdue(maybe more on the target side) are good with merit

Also Univ of Waterloo, unbiased🗣️ if your Canadian it’s worth looking into based on your priorities

I was thinking about putting down more higher up colleges like Princeton, Yale, and Caltech, but I feel like that make my list pretty unbalanced as it already is mostly reach schools

#

I was thinking Purdue, if they're good with merit financial aid that would be awesome. I'll definitely look into them.

And I'm worried it will only get more competitive because UW is about T10 in CS

They do scholarships a lot too

scholarships, esp for cs, are hard to come by since cs is competitive, and purdue is relatively cheap

The aid is rlly good for most ppl, check NPC
The cs major is very flexible u can certainly double major cs and math in CAS
