Schools: Georgetown University, University of Pennsylvania
Intended major: Philosophy + Political Science
Similarities: Things that are similar about the two schools
Costs: After aid shenanigans it looks like they charge me about the same
Georgetown University
School 1 Pros:
- T1 political science school
- Washington D.C.
- Smaller cozy campus
- Better admit day
- Really felt like home
- Jesuit education (I'm not religious, but I value the religious focus of the school)
School 1 Cons: - Feels a little bit too rich and white
- Turning down the Ivy League (lmao)
University of Pennsylvania
School 2 Pros:
- T10 Ivy League university
- Larger school w/ more opportunities
- Better at basically everything else
- Can get a minor from Wharton
School 2 Cons: - Philadelphia is not my favorite
- Mediocre admit day
- Didn't really feel it click
- Overwhelmingly large campus
Additional notes:
- I don't know if I'm being stupid by going off of vibe but Georgetown genuinely felt a lot more like home. But at the same time, logically, UPenn is the better school with more opportunities and a bigger brand name. My heart is saying Georgetown but my head is saying UPenn so any thoughts would be appreciated.
- Also curious to hear about people's perspective there and why they chose the school
