I got rejected from my in state school, and one of my top priority is the COA. My parents are willing to pay around 40k a year, and I can take out loans for the rest, but potential scholarships are high up in the factors to consider
Another factor to consider is the distance from home. I'm from MD, so the closer to that, the better
Schools: University of Pittsburgh, penn state, Rutgers, Rose Hulman Institute of Technology
Intended major: Computer Science
Pitt
Pros:
- I love the student body vibe
- Honor's college (idk how important that is though)
Penn State
Pros:
- Has good name recognition
Cons:
- I got into the Summer term, not fall
Rutgers
Pros
- Slightly cheaper
Rose-Hulman
Pros
- Private, so I may be able to negotiate cost
- High placement rates
Cons
- The gender ratio
Tiebreaking considerations:
- Cost is the most important thing
Ig I just want to see what others would pick in this situation. If you have any information that you think would help me decide/ would be relevent to me, please let me know. Ik this post is not too specific, but its more about asking for advice in order to make a more informed decision.
Thank you all!
