Schools: University of Delaware vs University of Pittsburgh
Intended Major:
Udel: Enviromental and Energy Policy
Pitt: Biology (I am hoping to go into either Environmental policy or genetic counselingmaster's)
University of Pittsburgh:
Pros:
Great internship program if I were to pursue biology with UPMC
Located in the city with lots to do nearby.
Irish Minor
In-State tuition
Academic enviroment
well known
Cons:
Located in the city
University of Delaware
Pros:
Amazing campus, I immediately felt at home
They have a service dog training program
Internship program in Washington D.C for those attending the Biden School
Well known
Nice location
3k scholarship
Cons:
Out of State (56k/year w scholarship, no financial aid yet.
Not much outside of Newark.
Side Note:
I have enough in savings to cover one year at the University of Delaware, or almost two years at the University of Pittsburgh. I love the University of Delaware, especially the campus but I am struggling with the idea of going into that much debt, especially when I plan on going into a master's program at a minimum. I like large campuses, and although I definitely prefer the suburban campus aspect of the University of Delaware, I do go to school in the city at the moment, and I am not overly opposed to going to a city campus.
