Location/Region: City/Suburban (I'm sort of okay with rural but preferably not too rural).

Major: Major in CS (Possibly in CE), Minor in math

GPA/Test Scores: 10th: 3.85 UW, 4.02W, 11th: No grades yet, but I'm taking 2 AP's and all possible honors so I'd assume I can pull a slightly better GPA in 11th. 1390 PSAT (without studying, not to brag but rather just I think I could maybe gain a 40-80pt gain if I really studied) No SAT yet

Curriculum: Strong CS programs/classes, and preferably a range of math classes

Size: Preferably on the smaller end, not sure how to quantify that but no schools over 10k students really. (I can elaborate on this if needed)

Costs: Aid would be nice but my family is able to help pay for most if not all schools (on the terms I get accepted lol).

Schools You're Currently Looking At: None, really.

List so far:
Reaches:
NEU, Purdue (so far), UMich (?)
Target (these might be reaches, not sure yet though):
WPI, RPI, Stevens (probably a reach), there should be more but I really haven't looked much at targets
Safeties:
Penn State, Drexel

Additional Info:
All of these may be changes, I just kind of want to help organize myself and know where a college stands instead of having to look up the colleges I've been suggested on SCOIR and then take a guess as to whether it is a reach

maybe Georgia Tech? They don’t meet your < 10k preference but besides that, they’re VERY strong in CS and engineering (just stem overall). I live in Georgia so I can’t speak on how gracious they are with OOS financial aid.

Based on the info you’ve given me, if you do consider GT, my biggest advice would be to definitely get your grades and test scores up. I’m not sure how true this belief is but many people here say that GT cares more about stats than ECs, though you should definitely focus on both.

and the psat i didnt study for so if i really locked in and prepared, im sure i could get maybe a low 1500s on the sat

#

i dont think ill need financial aid as my parents agreed to pay everything that they can and i need but obv ill take any financial aid i can

#

its not like my family is super rich but like if worst comes to worst my parents are probably equipped to pay for most colleges

1390 on the PSAT is really strong, especially because it's out of a 1520 scale. You should study, you can definitely get 1500+

Make sure to take advantage of leadership positions, clubs, hobbies, etc to help make yourself stand out from others in the application

To add to your list of reaches, Carnegie Mellon and UIUC have top 5 CS programs, and UT Austin and a lot of the UCs (UCLA/Berkeley/UCSD) also have very strong CS. These are all very competitive but you seem like a smart guy
