don't worry about BA vs BS
like you seem to have this figured out
apply to CSUs that hav accounting
i know thats what i was thinking but i also dont want to lay my eggs all in for accting then decide i hate it
whats the difference my mom has a college professor friend who said to go only for B.S
most schools only offer one or the other
Could u explain the difference though?
Okay so it wont matter for Like Jobs or anything as long as I have the degree?
not in the least
Do you know what cal states are good for accounting or what I should apply too I’m planning maybe 5 or 6
not off hand
Well if anyone does know that would be appreciated thx for the help
id reccomend try applying to SLO as a reach school
they have a good accounting program
I would apply but I don’t have the stats for it unfortunately
My reach is going to be csulb and sdsu I think
FSU @nimble breach
Well he wants to attendacal state exclusively and that removes FSU
Unless he's open to changing his mind
he shouldn’t
staying in state is ideal for accounting because you wanna get licensed in the state you live in
@worn cove you’ll definitely want to major in accounting
@strong harness knows more than i do about california schools though
I agree I was just pointing out that if he doesn't then FSU doesn't work
why not CSUF?
CSUF is on his list
ah might've glanced over
CSUF is strong for if you want to go into big 4 esp for accounting
my cousin is a senior at CSUF and did a summer internship that just wrapped up, she got an RO for assurance in their PE sector
agreed
a lot of cal states only offer BA esp for their accounting or accounting adjacent majors, which is fine
as long as you have the credits you need to approach the CPA (if you're shooting for that), then you're fine
specifically for CSUF though, you're doing business admin w an emphasis on accounting
CSULB, CSUF specifically for accounting
CSUF is a target school for accounting and their location is convenient enough to where recruiters who have offices in LA and OC will come to the career fairs or any events on campus. a lot of big 4 recruiting (EY, KPMG, deloitte, PwC) takes place
you might have a bit more competition around CSULB adjacent area in terms of recruiting but still solid
alright bet thank you i was planning on applying to csun csuf csulb and mayeb somewhere else but those 3 were for sure
my whole family has gone to csuf so it makes sense for me too go there too
i just wasnt sure because it was a BA not a BS sadly but someone said its the same either way
but i will definitely be applying to them for sure
any tips to ensure a internship during my college career that i can do or prepare for now as a senior in hs>
join relevant organizations, here is a list of all cal states with a chapter of beta alpha psi for example
my chapter of beta alpha psi is hosting deloitte for a presentation literally tomorrow
Does it cost a lot to join a frat
it can be pricey yes, but it really depends on the house and the school
Yeah I don’t know if I want to spend that money on it Lowk
Do you really think it’s worth it?
this is not a frat, its more like an honor society
its like 75 bucks for me this year and price goes down the longer youre in it
itll be 50 for me next year and 25 the year after that, but of course every school may do it differently
part of this is that there are gpa requirements, so i need to maintain a 3.0+ in all major coursework
