#Need some help for Math Major

Location/Region: Don't care where exactly tbh; I live in Nebraska.

Major: Mathematics

GPA/Test Scores: 3.98 UW, 4.52 W, 35 ACT

Curriculum: Good selection of math classes + good business/finance program

Size: Prefer on the larger side

Costs: Need mad aid i can't lie + im technically considered international because of visa and stuff so schools that give aid to internationals would be helpful (cough cough CMU)

Additional: I'd be going to UNL for like 8k/year, so if there are any state schools that are good for math and are better than UNL that might give me a good scholarship would be hella chill because i don't want to stay in nebraska. not to seem like a prestige whore but i want to be a quant/investment banker so schools that have good connections to that would be preferable. im open to any college tbh as long as it has a good math program and im getting good aid.

I think if u wanna go IB u should probably aim to go to college in the northeast, I’m not that familiar w IB stuff but I’m familiar w how good each school is academically & their aid stuff

if ur happy going to UNL, then its good
my advice is to researhc the hell out of and fall in love with UNL so that worst case u go to a school u like, and best case u go to a better school :D

Math is a really broadly competent field. Where you go won't matter because becoming a math professor is ridiculously hard since they are so few positions

When you get to undergrad, try to get into research ASAP. That will set you apart quickly

math department is pretty good too (although i know a lot more about their pure math, which doesnt sound too relevant to you if you wanna go into finance)
