Location/Region: I would prefer universities in a metropolitan or suburban setting. Rural is not really my vibe. Looking for US university suggestions, I have already been accepted into universities here, and I am also applying to Australian universities.
-
Major: I want to major in CS. Particularly interested in AI. Would like to minor in something like psychology or linguistics
-
GPA/Test Scores: Follow the national curriculum of NZ, so no official GPA. According to Crimson's GPA converter I have 3.75 UW. I am definitely in top 10% of class in my high school, most likely top 5%, if that helps for context? Have taken SAT once and got 1470 (710RW, 760M) Pretty confident I can get 1500+ next time.
-
Curriculum: N/A
-
Size: Ideally like medium sized? Any size from moderately small-large is fine, as long as it isn't super tiny.
-
Costs: International student needing aid :(. Can afford up to $30k USD/yr, ideally closer to $25k.
-
Schools You're Currently Looking At: Delusional Reaches: Northwestern (dream), Duke, Vanderbilt, Notre Dame, Brown, Tufts, Brandeis, Lehigh, Rice, Dartmouth, UChicago.
Target: FSU, UMass Amherst, Michigan State (if they are financially feasible?)
Safeties: Schools not in USA -
Additional: Particularly interested in Boston and Chicago? I think a school on east coast would be ideal, preferably at least somewhere near a coast, not like a inland hillbilly state. Also very big sports fan, particularly American Football and Football (Soccer), so I guess D1 sports would be a plus.

Hi! Have you considered Carnegie Mellon?
You also mentioned youre interested in the Boston area and D1 schools, how about Boston University or Boston College or Babson?
CMU, boston college and boston university are quite expensive for intls i think
not sure about babson
NYU is expensive too, but i think the aid would be good
I think purdue would be a good fit - its in the chicago area kinda and its a public school with lots of merit scholarship opportunities for international kids
im an international as well
brandeis university could also be good, not sure ab the major tho
Don’t convert your GPA, GPA is not standardized in the US
CMU does not provide aid to internationals so don’t waste your tim
I know, I just converted it here, as I think most people arent familiar with NCEA
gtech? i know they have a pretty low tuition just not sure what the exact amount is for intl
