students switch residential colleges all the time, I wouldn't really worry about not finding your group.

Rice's cog sci program is very flexible, which means you can do mostly computation+psychology to prep you for UX. Rice also has a history in Human Factors/HCI, I don't know at what level of involvement on the undergrad level, but it is one quick email away for you to ask.

JSC Human Factors has had involvement with Rice in the past with various recent projects, but I don't know if they are still partnered.

Besides, you (and most high school students and even many undergrads) are worrying about the wrong thing. When you go to undergrad, it is rarely has straightforward as going to a professional school like med school or law school, where you have a strict cirriculum, you go through the program, and you come out the other end trained at a specific job.

There will very rarely be specific classes that will help you in your future career unless you go into academia

This is, of course, discounting intro classes that teach you the fundamentals
