Most people are saying GT has better placement into big tech/notable tech companies than UCLA but im wondering where this assumption came from bc it doesnt look right from the data.
Here's the data:
UCLA undergrad Computing department: 1300 students -> 325 students per year (Check school demographoics)
Georgia Tech undergrad computing department: 3600 students -> 900 students per year (Check school demographics)

GT 505 students

Per capita:

252/325 = 77.5%

well i actually picked GT over Cornell bc

  1. it has 6th most HQ in US
  2. People have a life outside of school and suicide cases aren't taken as a norm
  3. It's close to where I live (which might differ for you)
  4. it is a travel center hotspot, largest airport in the world, really easy to go anywhere you wish
  5. tuition is a lot cheaper (but for me, cost wasn't really that big of a factor)

i saw someone say ucla vs. gt here for cs, i dont even tend to see UCLA anywhere in the t10 when it coems to cs, at least for usnews cs, but uclas a good ranked public school, and if ur in state for ucla, go there cz why not. but as a program, im p sure gts cs is better, its ranked 6

for compe even more so, GT is t5 in that, and generally t5 in other eng majors too, some even #1 and #2, T5 eng program overall in the nation
