i have a couple of guesses

1. you were admitted. they dont need anymore information. (NO REQ)
2. you were rejected. any new information wasn't going to save your app. (NO REQ)
3. you're on the edge. a good report will help show that youre not slacking and benefit you in committee (REQ)
4. you're on the edge. a bad report will decrease your chances (REQ)

additionally, after digging into this, context is important. princeton may (and has requested) grade reports from kids with 16 APs, it's worth it to note that they may be doing this to compare this applicant with others performance in the region they applied out of, etc

Princeton has roughly 40K applicants. Let's say they have roughly 8K REA applicants and admit 800.

It's fair to say they were TRULY considering roughly ~2.5K seriously. I doubt they'd request grades from all of them for committee.

I made these numbers up, so this could be totally wrong lmao, just my guess.

for example, im more content with the fact i didnt get a grade request since i am an outlier in my region

i am one of approximately 15 kids maximum that take 12+ AP courses in my entire country
