Im the first trumpet in my brass quintet, literally ahead of a man who studied music in college for six years and teaches it

I got extended an offer to join my local municipal band without audition

And I’ve played as a guest with the United States Navy band

And I was the first choice player for the pit of a Les Mis production

like i know chicago kids are really strong in brass & winds bc the chicago symphony is particularly known for that so theres a lot of good brass and wind teachers
