College apps are so dystopian. Like, I really hate having to use such an overused, overplayed, overdone, overengineered, overcooked word, but they are, and that is that! Also, it’s a little poetic… ironic? Or maybe just coincidental of a word choice, considering just how overplayed all of these essay prompts are. The most brilliant universities in the country, nay the world, came up with all this? GPT could give me more interesting prompts. Actually, scratch that, some of you cough cough Northeastern cough cough already tried that. Never mind. And the prompts that aren’t soporific seem to be downright cruel and unusual in an attempt to be quirky and extract “personal qualities” from their applicants (looking at you, UC Hicago and St. Anford).
