But I took two official ones and in the first one I screwed up badly in math and in the second I screwed up badly in science

True, though I heard that it's best to answer all optional questions because it'll show to colleges that you're not just applying to them because of brand name or whatever and are genuinely interested

Yes. But some of Duke's optional questions are truly optional like the LGTBQIA+ one. So if a question isnt relevant to you then you're not expected to answer it

There are enough optional questions for everyone to be able to do 2 though.

it also slightly depends on how good your score is relative to your HS

if its a couple hundred points above the average / ur hs avg SAT is low, then you should still submit

my tour guide was talking about them too

And it's required to take at least one semester of a language if you're studying abroad in a country that doesn't speak english iirc

Duke doesn't have danish classes though

So idk how that works
