i’m a first year rn, so i haven’t been able to really take elective courses yet, but out of all the classes ive taken this semester ECE has been my favorite so far. The labs are very fun and lectures are exciting. As for social life, it really depends on how much you seek it out, there are plenty of parties on weekends and plenty of club activities and events. I joined greek life, and that’s very much been a large part of my social life, but that’s not everyone’s cup of tea. The frats and sororities are pretty welcoming and i’ve had good experiences with them. I do spend a decent amount studying in the CS building but probably not as much as some of the dorm lounges as well as the libraries (hunt and sorrels). Also about internships, it’s pretty hard to get one, few people get them their freshman year tbh. I’m still tryna lock one down rn, and only a few of my friends have managed to secure internships. Many of them try to do research over the summer and aim for internships in future years

there’s never really a clear answer for why people get deferred, but it’s likely not your essay topics. if they didn’t like your essays they would outright reject you.

they tend to want to see your mid-year grades so they have a clearer picture when they reevaluate your application
