Just learned I'm one of only 100 students at Emory who're at minimum guaranteed a 50% scholarship for Emory, very very potentially a full ride, and I'm thinking of presenting it to USC to see if they'd be willing to reconsider my merit aid package

no the idea is most people take classes at some other school during fall so you stay on track
i did cc, some people did study abroad
you could also take fall off to work or something but my thought process was that cc was so easy (and i was only taking 13 units in fall) that it was pretty much taking a semester off anyways
if you work with first year advising people with picking classes you shouldn't have to do anything extra coursework wise

but i have no regrets because fall at home is way easier, i was able to take a break and do some hobbies that i enjoyed as well as "housekeeping" things like learning how to cook etc

I really love california, especially SoCal, I think LA is the perfect city to spend my early college years and I really want a school with a semester system. also since it’s private, classes are more intimate and there is good gpa inflation and grading isn’t horrible so it’ll help with med school. also their public health program is perfect and the opportunities and facilities they have are just as great. I can keep going on but I feel like it’s got everything on my list. It seems most ppls concern is the cost which would be mine too but I’m sure i’m eligible for full tuition so I’m not too worried about it, plus i have scholarships
