Ed2 100% helps I would look at last year’s channel for reference. Rd was pretty much 3%ish but ed2 if I remember correctly was a solid 15% on the a2c Reddit (the actual rate is probably lower bc a2c inflation but still)

I was also denied ed1 last year and got into Emory gt and Wellesley rd and got waitlisted by a handful of others selective schools. my feeling is that almost anywhere the math department is likely to let you do what you want if you know what you're doing and you should worry about 1) who you're taking the classes with and 2) what professors are likely to be there for you to work with and get grad school recs from
one thing that i will probably say i believe is that the opportunities to find real mentorship and build real connection with professors at a undergrad focused school like princeton are likely going to be easier to find than at a place like chicago
so don't lose heart! and remember you can absolutely learn math anywhere

it’s great in most aspects!! the administration is kinda awful rn but our president is retiring in july so hopefully it’ll change soon
but i love all of my courses, i think usc has some of the best GE requirements because there’s such a variety of courses
like for my humanities classes in the spring i’m taking popular culture of the 1960s and fascism
and next fall i’m doing a class on music and the brain for life sciences and astronomy for physical sciences
the astronomy GE includes a field trip to an observatory and the oceanography GE includes a field trip on a boat in the ocean☝️🤓
