I got curious so I went and looked through the ASC orientation files year by year

You can see them reduce the number of interviews from 18k (in the 19-20 and 20-21 files) to 11.5k (in the 21-22 files) to 9k (in the 22-23 and 23-24 files)

I'm honestly more surprised that they only had the capacity to conduct 18k interviews when they were just basing them off availability
