It’s good to have because if you have ten minutes between two classes opposite side of campus, you’ll have to sprint otherwise. It’s also good to have because a lot of people have them and will bike to places is Isla vista instead of walk. But I do know people without bikes and they’re fine. You can also come without a bike and if you decide you need one can find one really cheap on Craigslist

You can accept ucsb, stay on the ucsd waitlist, but act and try to feel committed to ucsb. Then if you do get off the waitlist, you can start thinking about ucsd again and research it a bit more to see if it feels more right to you, and if so can rescind your acceptance to ucsb but if not then stay committed to ucsb!! Do whatever feels best for you but I feel like doing the above would be least stressful for me personally
