I would talk to your counselor about appealing, there's no harm in doing so. I looked at the UCSB appeal process bc I got rejected and was curious, there are essay questions you have to submit too

My UC applications were bad because I wrote the essays in the last few days and they were about random events when I was volunteering. And the only award I put was AP Scholar (so basically no awards). No sports, no real extracurriculars or hobbies, etc.
I could definately have finessed like everyone else but I just figured they would realize I was being myself which is good
