Essay is actually UF’s only chance to hear the student’s voice - it’s heavily weighed because stats aren’t everything. I had a “lower” gpa but I also had 2,300 hours of professional-grade work experience spent during one of my class periods that I built towards working in theme parks

The only way you could predict it is if you had data on how many people were accepted EA
UF typically admits ~15k and expects that ~50% of its admitted applicants will commit
but it’s kinda difficult because I don’t think they have released any stats so far or hard numbers about the amount of students accepted and deferred in EA or the number of RD only applicants

I’m also thinking in EA they rejected around 45,000 people. It wouldn’t be logical to admit and defer more than 15,000 applicants, because that’s just prolonging the decision of applicants needlessly knowing not all of the deferred will have space
