If you live in the state of Florida, you can also take community college classes and if you complete your associates, you get guaranteed admission to one of the State University system colleges in Florida.

The recipients are selected by a committee each spring and will be notified via email by mid-March."

For current freshman, the UF merit scholarships were notified on 2/28/2024 via email. (This can change because of the new EA/RD rounds)

TBHHHHHHHHHHHH … I don’t consider this a massive benefit if you’re the one paying for it

You’re paying < 2k/yr more than you’d pay for a standard dorm…

which can be a significant amount for some people

Especially if you don’t have a bathroom in your dorm…

The communal bathrooms are certainly NICE but at the end of the day they’re communal bathrooms

I will not be living in honors village again next year because it just did not meet my needs for the price

But if you aren’t paying for your dorm and it’s close to your classes then it’s nice! There are still so many perks to the dorm but I wouldn’t 100% settle on living in honors village even if you get into honors because there might be better dorms that meet your needs more

If you’re consider UF as any sort of priority, I would try for Early action. EA you can at least get deferred to RD.
