20 still has a good amount of support via your teacher’s feedback, conferences, and the writing center if you choose to go, but yes, the majority of the writing will be done by you (same with 10 lol)

The recommendation doesn't come from a subjective distaste for reading books; it comes from the objective reasoning of what benefit does HUM10 actually serve you? Not sure what concentration you are, but to my knowledge it fulfills very little other requirements except the writing req.

So there could be 2, miserable doubles
or if someone bites the bullet and lives in the common room there can be this config in the fall:

1 double

And then the people in the double will get the singles in the spring

The very first day on your group work you'll be asked to write a proof given some preliminary information on how to construct a proof; and your first PSet is just all writing proofs. It is called intro to proofs, but idk lol most people who go to Harvard are already at that level, already have done theoretical classes, people like me who have 0 knowledge on theoretical anything is very much the minority

You start with Scratch, then it starts with C and you go through every grudging detail of C until you get to Python and then you do one intro python pset and then a full python pset and how it corresponds to C (like how certain abstractions in python come from the fully fledged out version in C)
