#UC Berkeley M.E.T vs. Cornell Engineering vs. Johns Hopkins BME

coming from a berk biased person berk isn't worth the extra 40k a year!
idt it'd make you 160k extra
It's MET though... the opportunities are insane based on what I've seen
if you want to like permanently stay west coast it'll b good fs esp silicon valley
dont know much ab where health startups are but go wherever it's better for that if it's your goal
honestly if you're truly leaning towards it (it sounds like that at least) and you can afford it/your family is willing to and it'd make you happiest you should 100% go to berk
you rlly can't make a wrong choice here between these 3 schools!
Middle of nowhere =/= no opportunities
Links to cornell tech and weill med plus heavy additions to our bme program since its new and being accredited now is a lot in itself
It doesnt have to be like a random company next door to have opportunities
Id go jhu
Cuz cheap and best but it is rigorous and hard and competitive
I agree ^ ,MET is also below 1% acceptance rate so huge congratulations
JHU
imo
however you cant really go wrong with cornell either
so i say visit and decide which u like best
this is terrible advice for 160k more a year
cornell cs is just as good
choose between jhu and cornell, cal ain't worth you're getting a shittier education for double the price
^
UC Berkeley M.E.T
How is it a shittier education though? Berk EECS is ranked #1 in nation
berk eecs is not worth the oos tuition
Any specific questions abt Cornell I can answer
Berk EECS & MET
I'm gonna be moving to CA as well so might qualify for in-state tuition
Worth it?
How is CS at Cornell
& entrepreneruship
Vvv good
Want to create a startup
Same with entrepreneurship
Are there people working on startups?
Oh cool - what type of resources do yall have
Plenty
Cornell has a shit ton of funding with competitions and stuff
Idk what industry ur targeted but this is one example
Discover how to engage with the Pillsbury Institute for Hospitality Entrepreneurship at the School of Hotel Administration at Cornell.
Better link
Oh ok, thakns
Nah debt is inevitable regardless of the school I go to atp
Just curious - do you know much about MET?
Seeing if the ROI is high enough
@ancient lotus - any advice?
All good choices
If you think you'll make the money back then UC Berk
if you're worried about money, JHU
the difference between the schools is not big enough to justify the extra tuition at berk
and in the long run the prestige doesn't help all that much
as long as ur motivated ull find excellent opportunities in the other two
My only concern is that Berk has opportunites that I can't find at these other schools
Esp when it comes to entrepreneurship
Being 30 mins away from Silicon Valley + guaranteed internship --> job pipeline seems insane - is it worth the extra tuition?
How so?
what do u think ur career goals r
MET easy
ask former met ppl
Met is the best program for biz/tech after m&t
if it matches ur goals
actually yeah ucb met is fire
Imo yes
People turn down ivies for MET btw (anecdotal)
Also @smoky violet can better answer
I know at least 5 people who have done this as well
i think ur best route is to find met people who r upperclassmen and ask them how much its benefitted them
Spoken to a lot already, most end up in PM or consulting but there's a handful who have successfully started and exited companies
🤣 congrats on cornell
Btw through MET I'll get a degree from HAAS and the school of engineering
met is cracked probalby do met
Ya seen people chose MET over Stanford or MIT
yeh i mean itll p much get u anywhere
anywhere ranging from quant -> tradtl finance
Go with MET. Unfortunately JHU and Cornell are tiers below MET for your interests. Berkeley is tied #1 CS with Stanford snd MIT and MET will set you up good with biotech. The only competitors to MET IMO are Stanford, MIT, M&T depending on your personal and professional interests. If anything else, go MET
MET
