#(for my cousin) Purdue CS vs Texas A&M CS (in state for A&M)

no scholarships/full pay at both
Purdue:
Pros:
possibly slightly better name
strong engineering program (unsure about how much better than a&m it is)
curriculum seems to be more rigorous
maybe better career outcomes
Cons:
much more expensive (about double the cost)
further away from home
housing crisis
A&M:
Pros:
half the cost of purdue
closer to home
strong engineering program
decent career outcomes and lots of friends from high school
Cons:
entry to a major - have to maintain a certain freshman gpa to get CS major
slightly worse career outcomes and curriculum rigor
unsure about culture fit but it’s a huge school so it’ll probably work out
TAMU for half the cost.
career outcome will likely be affected more by kid's skill than the school name.
